How to Successfully Post a Message (without really trying)

The following 10 suggestions are the criteria we use when deciding whether or not a message is appropriate for the forum. After reading these suggestions select the button at the bottom of the page to enter your message.

We find it necessary to post this section as the forum grows in size and popularity. We ask for your help by keeping in mind the following suggestions when posting your message.

1.) Respond Directly:

If you would like to comment or converse with someone from another post, please do so directly to the person via their email address link found in the message.

2.) E-mail Addressing 101:

Simply put, e-mail is like regular mail. It requires an address in order to be delivered. If you post an incorrect or incomplete e-mail address no one will not be able to contact you.

Please check your email address carefully before hitting the Send Message button.

3.) Privacy Protection:

This probably goes without saying but, don't enter any information that you don't want the whole world to see. Everything you post on the Internet (be it here or another forum) can be seen by everyone else on the Internet. We can not be responsible for problems caused from public or private information you choose to enter.

4.) Selling Something?:

Anyone who prays on the ill and injured by holding out false hope for profit are contemptible. To protect patients and families from such nefarious acts anything even remotely resembling a sales pitch will be immediately removed.

5.) Story Telling:

Feel free to write as much or as little as you wish. There are no limits in length but, please try to keep the information anecdotal. Please don't give advice about medications or treatment unless you are a physician. Example: "everyone should take 5mgs of this and 4 of these other pills per day" Say what worked for you but please don't try to diagnose or dispense dosages to someone else over the Internet. You may very well do more harm than good.

6.) SHOUT IT OUT!:

Keep in mind that TYPING IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS in addition to being difficult to read is considered SHOUTING on the Internet. Please use caps sparingly.

7.) Multiple Entries:

Please click SEND button only once. This submits multiple entries of the same message. Your entry is there, really, please be patient. It can take up to 24 hours for your message to post for you to see.

8.) Forget the Formatting, please!:

In order to conserve space on the site we ask that you refrain from using formatting when posting your message. Formatting is using the return key, tabs, bold words, colored text and other such techniques when posting your message.

Formatting is always removed before a message is posted. PLEASE, just type your message, salutation and signature all in one paragraph. No returns, no tabs. Just one big long paragraph.

Please show consideration for everyone trying to post and don't format your message.

Make sense? If not feel free to email us with any questions.

9.) Viewing Your Own Message:

Here's how you do it.

After submitting your information and seeing the "Thank You!" screen you will be able to see your message entry at the bottom of the page in about 24 hours.

10.) Mistakes:

If you make a mistake in your entry like an incorrect or incomplete email address and don't notice until after you post. It's no big deal. Really. Simply send us an email explaining the problem and we will fix it for you a.s.a.p. Most entries are fixed within a day.
